Below are guidelines for applying to be a member of the African Public Relations Association
(i) Applicant must be a practicing public relations practitioner
(ii) Applicant should Contact the Secretariat for the Application Form
(iii) Application to be endorsed by two financial members of APRA in good standing and at least One referee from applicant’s national body
(iv) Applicant must provide evidence of membership of his/her national body(where such exist)
(i) Associate Member
Criteria : 1-4 years of professional experience

Annual Dues: $50
(ii) Full Member
Criteria: 5-9 years of professional experience
Benefits:
– Use of acronym m.apra after your name
– Free online Webinars/Trainings
– Discount in all APRA-organized events (for paid up members only)
– Routine Alert on PR-related information/news/job openings
– Access to group discounts for external Programmes
Upgrading Requirements
– Up–to–date Payment of Annual Dues
– Attendance of 2 consecutive APRA Conferences
– Evidence of Payment of Annual Dues/Conference fees
– Evidence of attendance certificates for past conferences
Annual Dues: $100
(iii) Fellow (Senior Membership)
Criteria: 10 years of professional experience and above
Benefits:
– Use of acronym f.apra after your name
– Free online Webinars/Trainings
– Discount in all APRA-organized events (for paid up members only)
– Routine Alert on PR-related information/news/job openings
– Access to group discounts for external conferences/trainings/exchange Programmes
– Access to unique PR Case Studies
Upgrading Requirements
– Up–to–date Payment of Annual Dues
– Attendance of 5 APRA Conferences within 6 years
– Evidence of Payment of Annual Dues/Conference fees
– Evidence of attendance certificates for past conferences
Annual Dues: $125
(iv) Corporate Membership
Criteria: For Corporate Organizations in PR Practice for at least 3 years
Benefits:
– Free online Webinars/Trainings
– 5% discount in all APRA-organized events (for 3 members of staff and above)
– Routine alert on PR-related information/news/job openings
– Access to group discounts for external conferences/trainings/exchange Programmes
– Access to unique PR Case studies
Annual Dues: $500
The African Public Relations Association (APRA) is the successor organisation to the Federation of African Public Relations Associations (FAPRA) that was inaugurated in 1975 in Nairobi Kenya to foster unity via interaction and exchange of ideas amongst public relations practitioners in Africa as a whole.
